The next era of the ERAS program: improving and continuing excellence

Together, the AAMC and Thalamus are delivering significant improvements in the upcoming season that will support programs with better analytics and improved holistic review. The screenshots below illustrate some of these features.

Improvements for the 2024-25 ERAS season include:

  • Thalamus Holistic Review a new competency-based scoring tool designed to promote and transform comprehensive screening, evaluation, and assessment during GME recruitment. Thalamus Holistic Review extends traditional scoring capabilities to provide an essential look beyond purely academic metrics, so that programs can assess applicant competencies and build a complete picture, based on what matters most, and find alignment with educational missions.
  • Consolidated interview scheduling with Thalamus Core enables programs to run a more equitable and productive GME recruitment season with workflow automation supported by data driven insights, its more than just a scheduling system. Learn more at thalamus.org.
