The ERAS® Program Delivers for You and Your Students
Significant application cost reductions for medical students
The AAMC has developed a new ERAS pricing structure for students, lowering application costs for a typical applicant by up to 36%, and the AAMC expanded its successful Fee Assistance Program to include ERAS residency applicants. Beginning in the 2025 ERAS season, eligible applicants will automatically receive a 60% discount on up to 50 ERAS applications.
Product enhancements
The AAMC launched the Dean’s Office WorkStation (DWS) Analytics for Schools.
You can now harness the power of ERAS and Thalamus data to develop useful reports that monitor trends and support cohorts or individuals through the residency application process. For the 2024-25 season, DWS Analytics for Schools will be enhanced with a reorganized student activity dashboard, an easy to navigate application package overview, and a frequently updated specialty and programs overview..
Protecting students and advisors from the risk of fragmentation
Fragmentation of the residency application process creates unnecessary, disruptive challenges for medicals students and advisors. For advisors, it means multiple systems, juggling deadlines, and holes in the data. For students, fragmentation increases cost, time completing applications, redundancies, errors, lost fee assistance, and frustrations. The ERAS program simplifies the process for everyone.

Careers in Medicine® program
Careers in Medicine® (CiM) is a comprehensive career-planning program that provides resources to medical school faculty and staff to help them implement career-planning and advising programs at their school as well as prepare them for working directly with students to help them identify career goals, explore specialty and practice options, choose a specialty, select residency programs, and more. The program is also available to students directly.
VSLO® program
The AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities™ (VSLO®) program enables medical and public health students to pursue short-term learning opportunities in locations away from their home institutions. This enables program staff to get to know medical students before they apply to residency.
Residency Explorer™ tool
The Residency Explorer tool™ helps advisors, medical students and applicants to U.S. residency programs research and discuss programs in a student's specialty of interest and explore program characteristics based on previously matched applicants in those programs. A collaboration between leading organizations across medical education, the Residency Explorer tool is the only resource with original, source-verified data from the reputable organizations involved in the transition to residency.
